1 John 1
1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
This is a blog. It is only a blog. Blog is short for "Web Log". This is not a church. I have posted extensively on the church. A blog is more of the equivalent of the living room of my mind. This is where I opine and you are invited to chime in. I expect respect for myself and other guests who comment here. When I feel this standard is not upheld in the spirit of Christian charity, comments will be removed. I want to assure you that what you say here will not end up on the pages of a gossip blog where folks swallow camels and strain at gnats in the name of being better Christians than everyone else.
Brothers and sisters we do not have to approve of someone's lifestyle of sin nor do we have to agree with their ideas and thoughts to love them and accept them. Consider what God has forgiven you of, and what He loves you in spite of.
How can you apply this verse? "...if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (1John 1:7)

John,
I am so late, what 2 months after you post this?
Anyway I read it and agree brother, there is no excuse for not loving any person.
In fact verse 2 of chapter 2 of Johns letter here gives us the very reason we should love.
verse 2 says "and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for our sins only, but also for those of the whole world."
If Christ propitiated not only our(believers) sins but the whole worlds sins then what excuse to do we have not to love?
Merry Christmas, brother!

Greetings Kris,
Thanks for your comments. The point here is, we should not fear being called names by those who do not have any apparent biblical love in their heart for the brethren. My God calls that sin!
He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. 10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. 11 But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. (1John 2:9-11)
In His abundant love,
John
