Your Priorities

What is most important in your life?

  • I think this is a problem...

Do you not know what is most important in your life?

  • The question itself is convicting because the easy answers are the "right" answers -- glorifying God, being a spiritual leader in my home, growing in grace, etc. But I know that my use of time does not always match those lofty priorities. My use of time often exposes the high priority I place on myself and my comfort.

May God help us be faithful men in the area of our priorities.

  • This is convicting for me too!

I often start the day with a running to do list and try to check off a fair amount by the middle of the day. And most by days end.
I don't often check myself for having done all in love as to have lived by the greatest law.
We were reading about the ten commandments and I have stickies with each commandment written down. My second son a kindergartner often does little things that become object lessons. Today he took those stickies and put them on the walls upstairs and downstairs in all the rooms. I honestly don't know what was running through his mind ~ smile~ it brought to my attention once again that we need to be reminded of God's law. We can be ever so much more thankful when we remember that we can not keep the law and we need his grace. All that is needful is the law of love and how we must depend on Him to help us fulfill this daily even moment by moment!

Let us in every instance first give ourselves to learning biblical love.

  • Thank you, Roger for your comment.

Certainly glorifying God, being a spiritual leader in my home, growing in grace, etc. should take top priority for all of us. If the tuth be known, as it is, the use of the time He gives us would expose us all.

  • Hi Jacinda,

Your comment is very helpful! It is a good lead into exactly where we as believers can be in our daily walk, except that in the comment I prepared, I forgot to mention that along the way we need to notice and even pay attention to our children and all those moments that bring a “smile” to our face.
