Millennialism: Your Future Depends On It
Are you like the old man who, going to the ballpark only once a year, roots for both teams because he can’t afford to loose?
When faced with Millennialism, this old man may answer, “I don’t know much about it, but I’m all for it!” This is called pro-millennialism.
What about the church lady who says, “I don’t care about that stuff it will all pan out in the end.” This is called pan-millennialism.
These two views are becoming ever increasing in popularity, but in my view these are the two laziest views to have. Nearly one third of the Bible is the prophetic Word. The way we view the prophetic Word has a profound impact on the way we view the rest of the Word.
Would these be sound answers when it came to finances?
What about planning a family?
Planting a church?
Organizing a business?
If you are pro-millennial, you say, “I’m all for it.” Or if you are pan-millennial, you say, “It will all pan out in the end.” If the Lord has challenged you a bit, I urge you; don’t get all upset at my harsh sounding words, instead come back as we look at this defining issue.

How does Millennialism affect the things you mention?
By Matthew Celestine, at 5/10/07 8:02 AM
John, good point. The Bible is full of prophecy which while not necessarily affecting our salvation will definitely determine how we live our lives and understand the world around us.
God bless,
Jim

Matthew,
Could you clarify your question? I want to make sure I understand what you are asking and I also want to be sure my post was understood.
Thanks,
John

Hey John,
I met your beautiful wife today. We went out for Hawaiian barbque. We only were able to meet for about an hour, but it was splendid. Very nice to finally meet her. It was a bit surreal for I already felt I knew her, so it was a bit of a trip to meet her in person.
I couldn't decide what I wanted so I ordered 4 things. I had never eaten there before.
I had hawaiian shredded pork, some doughball with spicy pork in the middle, a peice of portugues sausage with rice wrapped in seaweed, and a mixed grill of shortrib, beef, and chicken. Plus two authentic hawaiian sodas to wash them down. (I didn't eat it all, lol. My son will probably eat it before I wake up tomorrow).
Anyway, I had a simply pleasant time. You have a wonderful wife.
Talk to ya later!

You said that Millennialism affects all these things:
What about planning a family?
Planting a church?
Organizing a business?
I am rather hoping you are going to explain how Millennialism affects those things.
God Bless
Matthew

Hi Matthew,
(Thinking out loud) I thought perhaps I was not unclear. Man was I ever unclear! After looking my post over I see exactly what I did wrong. I should have made my strong statement “The way we view the prophetic Word has a profound impact on the way we view the rest of the Word.” Then restated the pro-mill statement ““I don’t know much about it, but I’m all for it!” along with the pan-mill, “I don’t care about that stuff it will all pan out in the end.”
Then try to grab the reader using the rhetorical device “Would these be sound answers when it came to finances… planning a family… planting a church… organizing a business…?
This would have drawn the reader to the obvious conclusion, “NO!” and helped the reader to consider how serious the prophetic Word is. Then I could have encouraged readers to read my next post where I hope to motivate others to study of the prophetic Word using proper hermeneutical tools.
The end of my post should have read…

The way we view the prophetic Word has a profound impact on the way we view the rest of the Word of God. When faced with Millennialism, the old man may answer, “I don’t know much about it, but I’m all for it!” The church lady may say, “I don’t care about that stuff it will all pan out in the end.”
BUT
Would these be sound answers when it came to finances?
What about planning a family?
Planting a church?
Organizing a business?
Why not come back as we sort out other issues concerning the prophetic Word.

Thanks for making me aware of the confusing presentation. However, if you would like information on some biblical material that has had a huge impact me personally in these other areas email me. I am in a developmental stage in an ongoing process of applying God’s Laws, Principles, and Precepts in every important area of my life. It has been revolutionary for me!

I think you can be pro or pan as long as you know when to go for the gusto and when to know that the lord is the only one who can pan things out... just not to much of one or the other you have be have balance between the two and some peace of mind in between!
